Inner State Gallery is Detroit's premier gallery for both local and international artists. Set in Detroit's historic Eastern Market district, the 3-story building was built in 1923. A former knitting mill, Inner State Gallery is home to an 1800 square foot white wall gallery, internationally recognized print company 1xRUN, as well as an artist live/work loft space.
Each exhibition at the gallery is free and open to the public. Birthed from the creative team at Royal Oak's 323East Gallery, Inner State Gallery was founded in 2013 with Glenn Barr's Detroit Rooms opening in May of 2013. Additional previously exhibited artists include Ron Zakrin, Camilo Pardo, Nychos, Malt, Tead, Ellen Rutt, Denial, Ben Frost as well as The Weird featuring Cone, Vidam, Dxtr, LOOK and HRVB. Upcoming exhibitions include Cope2, Meggs and many more to come.
